Redo 101: Snap a Picture! - Day 4

Snap a Picture! - Day 4
First, I get some very big news! Our SITS photography teacher, Lynda Widdens, mentioned my Montpelier gravel picture (second shot) today in class. I'm pretty excited about that!

I must admit thatyesterday's SITS' photography class was overwhelming, mainly because I make no experience with Twitter.

It's a major way of driving traffic to your blog, so the class gave lots of ideas for doing good that.

Not being set to go down another techie trail at this point (I'm still learning the rudiments of mailing a blog), Iskipped to the back part of today's lesson, which was more on ...

Flickr. Since discovering Flicker earlier this week, I really enjoy using it to carry my pictures. I've hadseveral comments on my little beginning pictures, comments from people I don't know, and that's beenfun.

Flickr has groups you can join, of which SITS is one. I can log onto Flickr, sign on to link the SITS group, and tie up my pictures. This is large because it puts my pictures in the midst of other bloggers sharing similar interests with whom I can interact.

And I do love to interact.

There is a current group on Flickr called Project 365. You can guess what that group is all about, right?

There are also critique groups - something I'm not quite ready for - like 1-2-3 Kids.

Did you acknowledge you can get free photos to use on your blog from Flickr? You willlikely need to ask permission of the photo owner beforehand, and be trusted to credit him/her beneath the picture.

Our SITS photography teacher, Lynda Giddens, has written an in-depth article here near the legal aspects of using others' photos. Be certain and show her information before first.

The serious news, for thosewho would wish to seeyour blog grow, is that including the list of your blog on your Flickr photos can help motor traffic your way.

Which means more interaction.

Which way a happier blogger. :)

Have you been to Flickr yet to send your pictures? I'd love to live so I can acquire a look!
